Right. I've made a mini tankard. It's time I made a flask to keep the whisky in :)

Leather cut and sewn

The leather is then wet formed and packed out to form the shape

Here it is all waxed and water tight

Nice little project if a little messy to wax.

Mini Tankard

Just a little project to test some leather skills.

I decided to make a leather tankard, but a mini one as I didn't have the leather to make a larger one. Makes a nice little tot tankard

Enzo Necker

At the Bushcraft Show last year I picked up a Necker kit from English Handmade Knives. Great little blade and a great buy, IMHO



I was not sure if to keep the G10 but though it would be worth a try. Here's what it looks like now.

Axe Mask

At last years Bushcraft Show I made an axe. Well it needs a mask to protect it and me and none of the standard ones are going to fit (its a one off  ) and it felt right to make one as I made the axe.

Done a couple of knife sheaths in the past so set too on googling axe mask options. Its fairly conventional but I like it. I love the double row of stitching, like the look. I'm not the biggest fan of sewing so it was an effort of will to put two rows in 

Antler sewing case

Just a fun little project. Decided an antler sewing case was needed so set too in making one up.

The body is a section of Red Deer antler drilled out. A Maple cap was made for the top and bottom and a leather cord passed through to hold it together and also hang it around the neck.

The waxed thread is wrapped around some antler winders I made. A few safety pins and needles held in a piece of deer skin leather complete the kit.

Handy for running repairs or little projects when out.

Recent Svord Peasant

I was asked to handle a Svord Peasant a little while ago. The blade had already had the heat treated finish removed but needed a little further cleaning up. The basic wooden handles work but can be made a lot prettier :)

Darren asked for Rosewood scales and the usual brass pins and spine spacer as this seems to be my prefered design. It's taken an age to do as I've had a few family commitments etc, but here it is at last. I'm really pleased with it and the rosewood has a weight that gives it a really solid feel.

I was then really chuffed to get this reply after posting it off.

You're really outdone yourself mate! It's so gorgeous. There was actually a brief spell of sunshine when I opened up the package. I kid you not!
